Volunteers

Volunteers are a big part of every ministry at GVC. The vast majority of everything that happens in our community happens because people willingly and freely get involved. Volunteers rock!

Mission

Statement

Knowing God (discipleship)

Being with Jesus: This is how we practice and experience God’s presence. We all need a living, personal relationship with Jesus.

Becoming like Jesus: This is allowing Jesus to transform our character. We learn and grow as we operate in the gifts and fruit of the Spirit.

Behaving like Jesus: This is following Jesus’ example as we outwardly care for the world around us as an expression of God’s love in action.

Serving God

Giving and volunteering within our church community and local mission partners.

Sharing God

Telling our stories and extending the good news of Jesus through national and international partnerships

Core

Values

Discipleship (Knowing God)

Living as disciples leads us into knowing God, and it is designed to transform every area of our lives. As we live out of our transformation, Jesus can work through us. As followers of Jesus we want to continually grow in being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and behaving like Jesus together.

Community

We are an intergenerational faith community that wants to grow in our love for each other, our neighbours, and our city.

Collaboration

We value partnerships and working side by side with other organizations, sharing resources wherever possible.

Stewardship

We believe stewardship is the responsibility to administer and manage all things God has put in our hands. We want to use what we have well and give back through service and generosity.
